Volunteer

Young Dance has many volunteer opportunities available. While the artistic director spearheads the planning process, our projects are truly a group effort. Young Dance parents donate many hours of time and energy - helping with fundraising, programming, publicity, and production. Our network of volunteers helps build strong connections between families associated with the organization. Many parents stay involved long after their children are no longer dancing with the company.

Volunteer opportunities:

Board member
Our board of directors continually examines how Young Dance aligns with our stated mission: to provide young people the opportunity for artistic expression, for achievement of high quality performance, and for appreciation of diversity. They guide the company to ensure continued stability. Policy making is a collaborative process in which the board involves the artistic director, the dancers, their parents and families, and the community at large.

Graphic design
Create simple flyers for community events, or work on a larger project like our spring show posters, or brochures about classes.

Carpool
We all need to save on gas and our wallets. Volunteer to carpool with dancers going to the
same class or performance. Carpooling is vital to involving children who have difficulties finding after-school transportation.

Staff events
Young Dance performs frequently, and we can always use volunteers to help run the box office, usher, or staff booths at festivals.

Sewing and Hairdressing
Our spring show needs volunteers to help alter dancers' costumes, and volunteers to help do hair.
