Dance Together


Ages: 1- 3 with caretaker (crawlers and walkers welcome)

Day: Wednesdays, July 10, 17, 24, 31, and Aug. 7

Family Dance

 

Creative Movement One 


Ages: 3-5 (Pre-K)
Time: 4:30-5:15 p.m. 
Day: Mondays, July 8, 15, 22, 29, and Aug. 5

 
Exploration, improvisation, and expression through movement. Children develop large and fine motor skills, as well as coordination, rhythm, teamwork, and listening skills. More Information

Creative Movement Two


Ages: 5-7 (Grades K-1)
Time: 5:15-6:00 p.m.
Day: Mondays, July 8, 15, 22, 29, and Aug. 5

 
Exploration of dance language through improvisation and creative movement games. Students are exposed to class structure, complex routines, and acquire an understanding of the dance concepts Space, Time, Body, Effort, Movement, and Form. More Information

All Abilities Dance and Stories


Grades: 1-4
Time: 10:30-12:00 p.m.
Day: Mon.- Thurs. June 17th - 20th
Location: Dowling Elementary School, 3900 West River Pkwy, Minneapolis, MN 55406

 
Our bodies tell stories about ourselves and our lives. Students with and without disabilities will use creative dance to discover and share stories with each other. We will create ways our stories weave together into a group dance.  
 

Create! Dance and Photography Camp


Ages: 8-12
Time: 9:30-12:00 p.m.
Day: Mon. - Thurs. July 15th- 18th
 
Experience the joy and fun of dance, while learning the elements of photography and how images can inspire choreography and creativity! Each day will consist of a group photo walk around the neighborhood to help participants focus on their photography goals and let them practice the new skills they’ve learned. During these photo walks, they will develop and hone their visual acuity, looking for the light, shadows, shapes, and more. The participants will then apply the elements of photography to movement sessions in the studio. The students will participate in movement exercises of creation and learning dance technique.
This camp will offer insight into the appreciation and inspiration of movement and visual art. (Digital Device with Photography capabilities needed, but not required.)

Summer Dance Sampler: Boot Camp


Ages: 11 and Older
Time: 10:00-1:00 p.m..
Day: Mon. - Wed. July 8-10 (Register for a single day or all three)
Location: Cowles Center, Studio 2B, 528 Hennepin Avenue, Minneapolis MN 55403
 
Don't miss out on taking dance this summer! This camp is a wonderful opportunity to give your dance training a rev-up, have fun, and explore different dance genres! This camp will give you the chance to experience 5 different styles of dance: Jazz, Modern, Ballet, Contact/Improvisation, and Hip Hop. The participants will engage in stretching, strengthening, skill-building, and learn fun choreography that allows you to groove, grow, and flow!!

Dance Sampler: Boot Camp

Invitation to Belonging 


Ages: Open to Teens and Young Adults 
Time: 10:00-3:00 p.m.
Day: Mon. - Fri. July 15 - 19
Location: Great River School, 1326 Energy Park Drive, St. Paul, MN 55108
 
Teens and young adults, with and without disabilities, will investigate the role of the arts in building and sustaining inclusive communities. Each day will begin with a physical warm-up to enliven each individual’s own movement vocabulary and build an understanding of the movement capacity amongst the group. In subsequent workshops each day, participants will respond to questions posed about community through movement, drawing, writing and music. They will create a presentation to share excerpts of their work together at the end of the week.
