Modern Dance Classes for Children, Kids, and Teens
GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT YOUNG DANCE CLASSES
Dance classes are open and do not require an audition. Our dance classes are structured so that dancers can jump in and join a dance class anytime during the year. Students of all levels and backgrounds enjoy our collaborative and creative approach to modern dance!
Young Dance Classes are fun and easy way to learn about and participate in modern dance, without auditioning for The Company, or making a long term commitment.
Instructors. Young Dance classes are taught by artistic staff, working dance professionals with rich artistic backgrounds and extensive dance training.
Location. Classes are held at convenient Southwest Minneapolis locations and are accessible by bus.
• Center for Performing Arts: 3754 Pleasant Ave So, Minneapolis
• Barton Open School: 4238 Colfax Ave So, Minneapolis
Clothing and Shoes. Just wear comfortable clothes that don't inhibit movement in any way. Examples are: loose fitting or stretchy pants, comfortable shirt, leotards. We dance barefoot, no shoes or tights required.
Affordable, with a pay as you go option. Because Young Dance is committed to making dance classes accessible to children and teens from all income levels, we do not require payment for more than one dance class at a time. Our dance classes are very affordable – The first dance class is FREE.
Scholarships and transportation assistance. Scholarships are based on financial need. Please ask if you need assistance with transportation. For more information, call 612-423-3064.

2007-08 DANCE CLASSES
Young Dance offers modern dance classes for preschool through Grade 12.
We are currently accepting registrations for Session 5 Dance Classes. Download registration form here.
Session 1 -- September 24 to November 2
Session 2 -- November 5 to December 14 (no class Thanksgiving week)
Session 3 -- January 7 to February 15
Session 4 -- February 18 to March 28
Session 5 -- April 7 to May 9 (5 weeks only)
Creative Movement: Ages 4 – 6
Tuesdays, 5:45 – 6:30 PM
$6 per class / $30 per six-week session

What do you get when you put a bunches of rambunctious boys in a room, get them jumping, running, playing games and goofing, making sure to throw in some creativity, brain-building and a sprinkle of dance technique and Yoga on the side? "Boys Get Movin," a dance class just for boys where students can engage in exciting full-bodied movement that is so fun, you might just forget that you're in a dance class.

Call 612-423-3064, or contact us. Previous dance experience is not necessary. Our unique approach to dance is designed to help young artists develop physically, emotionally and intellectually. Young Dance teaches modern dance technique, but more importantly, we teach our dancers how to be thinking artists.
Young Dance offers two payment options.
Full Session: Register and pay in advance for a full session, get 6 classes for the price of 5.
Per Class: Advance registration is not required. Please bring payment with you to class, cash or check. Please bring the exact amount -- instructors DO NOT have change!
